1/ Max Pen: Could you tell us a bit more about yourself so the readers know who you are?
Cindy Wang: Well, my name is Cindy, I’m 16. I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I’m crazy about chocolate and cakes. I sometimes can be such a shy girl, but sometimes I can be such a talkative girl. I definitely love music, it always mesmerizes me. I also love writing and watching adventure stories, spending my time on playing computer games.

2/ Max Pen: How did you get into playing music and how long you been doing it now? Did you learn everything from yourself or do you follow a course in Music?
Cindy Wang: The way I got into playing music was actually from myself. I think I’ve got a gift since no one has that ‘playing music’ talent in my family. I’ve been playing music for 9 years. So, when I was 4 my uncle gave me an electronic organ, and of course I didn’t know how to play it. Then I saw my mom playing a song, even though she’s not really good at it but I became interested in playing organ. She could see how interested I was, so at the age of 7, I started to be taught to play the organ by my mom’s close friend. 4 years later, I started to take a course in one of Yamaha music schools in Jakarta.

3/ Max Pen: What instruments do you use to play music? Have you ever thought of putting your music online?

Cindy Wang: Actually, I’ve been focusing on playing organ. But sometimes I use piano to play music, since they’re pretty much the same. I can also play guitar and flute. And yes, I’ve ever thought of putting my music on Youtube, but I’m way too shy to do it. I don’t really like doing it alone. I think my parents will get mad at me if I do it. Besides, I’m afraid if one day my friends will find out my video on Youtube.

4/ Max Pen: When did you start with singing songs? Are this sing in English or your own native language? What are the songs usually about?
Cindy Wang: I think it’s hard to decide when exactly I started with singing songs because I sing all the time. I sing everyday, and usually the songs are sung in English. I don’t usually sing Indonesian songs, because I don’t really follow them.

5/ Max Pen: Who are some of your favorite music artists and why?
Cindy Wang: I love Girls’ Generation, especially the leader, Tae-Yeon because I think they are very well-trained. You know, it’s really hard to sing and dance at the same time. I also love Charice Pempengco, Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne, and Beyonce because they have such natural as well as powerful voices. Their voices are still awesome even when they sing live without autotune.

6/ Max Pen: Can you tell us if your music taste has changed over the years?
Cindy Wang: When I was 4, I’ve become interested in music. I listened to Britney Spears, NSYNC, Westlife. Then at the ages of 10-11, I listened to some Indonesian songs. At the ages of 12 – 14 I still listened to Backstreet Boys, Avril Lavigne, Jonas Brothers, Paramore, Skye Sweetnam, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Daryn Zanyar, Selena Gomez, Brie Larson. When I was 15 I got into Kpop, and I loved SNSD, Super Junior, and SHINee.

7/ Max Pen: What music genres do you like to listen to, what genres don’t you like to listen to?
Cindy Wang: I always love pop, classical, jazz, electro rock, but I loathe heavy metal because I find sometimes it’s really disturbing.

8/ Max Pen: You mention you like to watch TV shows, what shows are following at the moment?
Cindy Wang:I’m following Grey’s Anatomy, CSI Miami, iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Merlin, Grey’s Anatomy at the moment.

9/ Max Pen: Can you share with us your top 5 of tv shows you like alot?
Cindy Wang: iCarly, Grey’s Anatomy, Big Time Rush, Victorious, Merlin.

10/ Max Pen: What does a tv show need to have in order for you to like it? Describe to us your preferences.
Cindy Wang: I guess there should be something funny and exciting. I like a TV show which’s got an adventure and a fantasy story in it.

11/ Max Pen: What dream job did you have as a young kid? What job do you see yourself doing in the future?
Cindy Wang: I wanted to be a boss when I was a young kid. Actually, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up later. I’ve got lots of ambition, because I think I have no problem in doing anything, my friends said so. Sometimes, I plan to be a singer but I don’t think if it’s gonna work since I’m too shy to sing, and that’s such a big problem for me. I also want to be an animator, graphic designer, or or famous author like J.K. Rowling as well as Rick Riordan.

12/ Max Pen: Finally, do you see yourself becoming famous one day through being a singer?
Cindy Wang: I have no idea to answer this. lol. Well, I hope so. But as I’ve already mentioned, I’m too shy to sing sometimes. I’ve sung for the singing exam in front of the class and lots of friends said that I was really good. There was a friend coming towards me then she said that she got goosebumps.

Thank you for doing this interview with me Cindy Wang. It was a pleasure and I hope everyone enjoys your replies as I did. -Max Pen

  1. Im playing mpouzouki if you know what organ its like guitar…

My sister was playing piano (armonio -yamaha) but she left it down ,she was interested on other things…like football xD

anyways btw cindy you should think what you gonna do with your life…

You have to find a specific one you like and taking serious and be focus on that.

I have some problems about choosing what to do with my life.

For example i know that i want to be a programmer but if i do that i have to left mpouzouki (intrument) and not only that training (running abs work out) or even a lot of my interest thats why it making me feel bad because i cant do all things together.

I wish you goodluck with that which you are doing.

  2. Cindy says:

Oh Gosh, it’s been such a long time, have never thought that anyone would jump to my interview and give a comment on it.

Yeah, me too. Dunno know why, so many stuff that I like. It’s hard to focus on one thing since until now I still dont know the thing that I like most, that I can put my whole mind on it.

While I’m going to be a university student soon, I still don’t know what major I want to take, what major that suits me.

Thank you so much. I wish you good luck too @TheUninvited..
