Kavin founder of CyberGuards, a tech, software-protection website give us some information about his forum and why he started it.
First of all what made you start Cyberguards?
Answer:
Cyber Guards was originally aimed to spread awareness about web security among Indian webmasters, as we witnessed a lot of Indian sites being hacked. Later I thought of making it open for global webmasters to discuss security issues and their preventive measures.
Do you have experience in cyber security?
Answer:
Yeah! I had started Cyber Guards because I’m interested in security stuff and know something about it. I was a member of many PC and webmaster forums, which made me gain more knowledge in the field.
Have you had any trouble with hackers? Do you follow hacking news, updates, tricks to out run hackers using them on your site?
Answer:
I never had a problem with hackers personally. Just to mention, I once worked as moderator of a hacking forum. As in recent time, people use hacking to do evil things, instead of using it for education purposes, I started being their counterpart.
What type of groups are you trying to attract to this site?
Answer:
Webmasters who want to avoid hackers, and people who are interested in spreading the importance of security to public.
Your team exists out of 3 members. You as admin, super mod: shadowww™ and Freebies Guru: Swarup. Do both offer a lot of support and do they do there job perfect?
Answer:
Shadowww was a white hat himself, and Swarup was good in PC related stuffs. They do offer a lot of support in improving this site. I have to mention that, without them, I couldn’t have brought Cyber Guards up.
What does the job Freebies Guru mean? What do they do?
Answer:
The title “Freebies Guru” was awarded to swarup, since he was so good in finding Freebies and giveaways around web and informing our users. He was also a Super Mod here.
In what direction to you see this forum go the coming months?
Answer:
I had a long term goal of setting up a groups system, where people can form a group within Cyber Guards. These groups will analyze websites and inform their respective webmasters about the vulnerabilities. I was also planning to hire an Admin to manage these group .
